About me
Michelle Parker (she/her) is Executive Director of Audubon Great Lakes and Vice President, National Audubon Society. In this role, Michelle crafts and ensures implementation of Audubon’s strategy for durable environmental progress in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Prior to joining Audubon Great Lakes, Michelle spent nearly two decades as a conservation leader in the Great Lakes region. Most recently, she led the environmental and disaster response programs with the Crown Family Philanthropies. Additionally, Michelle spent 12 years leading Shedd Aquarium's conservation initiatives in the role of Vice President of Great Lakes and Sustainability. Earlier in her career, Michelle developed international research projects for Earthwatch Institute, and held engagement roles with New England Aquarium and Disney World. She has previously served on governance and advisory boards across the Great Lakes region, and currently serves as on the Illinois Nature Preserve Commission and as an Observer for the Great Lakes Commission. Michelle holds a Masters in Zoology from Miami University, and a BS in Conservation Biology from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
