The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management works to keep the nation’s coasts safe from storms, rich in natural resources, and economically strong. The office oversees major initiatives that include the National Coastal Zone Management Program, the Coral Reef Conservation Program, the Digital Coast, and the National Estuarine Research Reserve System. NOAA maintains a significant presence in the Great Lakes, where we contribute to groundbreaking research, further collaboration among the region’s agencies and organizations, and play a leading role in Great Lakes restoration.
